How to Fix Every Camera Battery Problem
Fix: Battery Draining Too Fast
A battery that dies quickly is the most common complaint. The causes range from settings you can adjust to a battery that simply needs replacing.
- βTurn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth β These wireless features drain the battery continuously even when you’re not transferring files. Disable them in the camera menu when not needed.
- βReduce LCD brightness β The rear screen is one of the biggest battery drains. Lower brightness to 50% or less, and use the viewfinder when possible.
- βShorten auto power-off time β Set the camera to sleep after 30 seconds of inactivity instead of 1β5 minutes. Every second of idle screen time counts.
- βReduce image preview time β Set post-shot image review to 2 seconds (or off). Reviewing each photo for 5β10 seconds wastes significant power.

Fix: Battery Not Charging

- βClean the battery contacts β Check the gold contact points on the battery and inside the camera/charger. Wipe them gently with a dry cotton swab. Oxidised contacts are a very common cause of charging failure.
